CORPORATE PROFILE

SUN PALM TRANSPORT GROUP, trading as SUN PALM EXPRESS COACHES, ACACIA LUXURY TRANSPORT and AUSTRALIA COACH operates from its head office at 16 Teamsters Close, Craiglie, Port Douglas and the Qantas terminal at Cairns International Airport.

Established in 1986, the company has grown from humble beginnings as the taxi operator in Port Douglas to a company that now employs 60+ staff and has a fleet of over 45 vehicles with the capacity to carry 600 people at any one time.

SUNPALM TRANSPORT moves people. It operates a seat-in-coach service transferring people primarily to and from airport, shipping, train and bus terminals to their hotels or accommodation houses between Cairns, Palm Cove, Port Douglas and Cape Tribulation.

SUNPALM TRANSPORT also operates local shuttle services around
Port Douglas at 15 minute intervals throughout the day between the hours of 0700hrs to 2300hrs. In addition, it operates Limousines and Coach Charters from Mission Beach to Cape Tribulation.

SUNPALM TRANSPORT also operates PORT DOUGLAS TAXI service.

SUNPALM TRANSPORT also provides vehicles and chauffeurs for customised tours, special and corporate events and weddings.

AIRPORT DESK

SUNPALM AUSTRALIA COACH is the only licensed operator at Cairns International Airport. The company’s three airport desks are attended by competent, friendly staff for all major arriving flights 7 days a week. The desk is well signed with exclusive kerbside pickups providing passengers with seamless travel from the aircraft to their holiday destinations.

The staff at the desk will assist drivers:

• Meet and greet all bookings from flights.
• Ensure passengers transport requirements are managed in an efficient, courteous and professional manner.
• Assist with luggage and transfer from the arrivals hall to the vehicle.

COMMUNICATION

• All vehicles are equipped with two way radios to enable communication between vehicles and the Base.
• All drivers carry mobile telephones.
• Reservations can be made 24 hours a day 7days a week.

INSURANCE

All vehicles have full comprehensive insurance cover. Sun Palm Transport Pty Ltd holds public liability insurance for $20 million

MAINTENANCE

All vehicles are maintained and serviced close to our base at the Mobil Service Station at Port Douglas. This enables all vehicles to be serviced near to base and the flexibility to repair vehicles quickly when necessary.

OUR EXPERIENCE

SUN PALM  holds the contracts for VIP transfers for many of the 5-star hotels in Cairns, Port Douglas and major inbound operators such as Australian Outback Tours, Sunlover Holidays, Far and Wide (Swain) and several other major inbound operators.

In addition, Sun Palm Express handles lost luggage for Qantas and Virgin Blue to the Northern Beaches, Palm Cove, Port Douglas and Cape Tribulation.

The company organised all transport for the US presidential visit in November 1996 on behalf of the Equity Transport Group. And through our partners, Astra Limousines in Sydney, Nautilus Limousines managed the Prime Ministers visit to the area in 2005.

UNIFORMS

All chauffeurs and staff wear a distinctive uniform.

DRIVER EDUCATION

• All drivers are issued with a manual which they must read and sign as understood.
• All new drivers must spend a minimum of 2 days under tuition with a senior driver.
